The courses in park and sports turf management are designed to enable students to prepare for a career in this essential and diverse profession. This degree is part of our comprehensive Agricultural Sciences 91直播. The program is unique in that most courses provide hands-on experience designed to give the student a combination of practical skills and technical knowledge. Students who intend to transfer should meet with a counselor to check the lower division requirements in the catalog of the college or university which they will attend and also the semester and year in which courses are offered.
This program is intended to prepare students to manage a park or sports facility and also for employment following graduation. Students will learn how to design, install and manage irrigation systems, set up and implement fertilizer and pest management programs, design and properly install a complete landscape (including all plants and hardScape), and properly identify and maintain trees, shrubs and turf grasses. In addition, students will learn about personnel management, budgeting and other management topics.
