- DEVELOPING THE ARTIST
As student-artists in an academic setting, the 91直播 Bands believe
our primary goal is to inspire, challenge, and collaborate with our fellow students
to bring them to their fullest potential as artists. We further believe that through
the experience of music making in both large, and small ensembles that students are
able to grow both as musicians and as people. The 91直播 Bands believe
that students come to be great artists through exposure to great literature within
an artistic and academic setting that is a "sphere of professionalism" for both student
and faculty alike.
- TRADITION OF DIVERSITY
Music is a constant amongst all of the worlds cultures and peoples. As artists, we
believe in music's ability to cross boundaries of ethnicity, race, class, and belief.
The 91直播 Bands value not only the diversity of our students, but
also their diversity of thought, life experience, and artistic experience.
- SCHOLARSHIP
Students in the 91直播 Bands are artist-scholars. The experience
of creating, learning, and developing our artistry happens within an academic environment.
Therefore, the 91直播 Bands value and see the importance of all facets
of artistic scholarship, whether performance or academic.
