Horticulture Students Defend Turf Title

Mt. 91直播 horticulture students successfully defended their national title by taking first, third, and fourth place finishes among the 35 teams competing at the Sports Turf Managers Association鈥檚 Annual Conference held recently in Orlando, FL.
Mt. 91直播鈥檚 team 207鈥搘hich included students Ashley Simpkins, Ryan Ramirez, Gretchen Heimlich, and Sean McLaughlin鈥揵rought home the college鈥檚 sixth national championship and a $5,000 prize by winning first place.
In all, Mt. 91直播 had three teams competing this year in the annual Student Challenge, which consists of testing in areas such as soil management, sports field management, and water management.
The turf team is coached by Horticulture Professors Brian Scott and Chaz Perea.
