鈥淚t is with great pleasure that we welcome Dr. Garcia to Mt. 91直播 as its 10th president, its first female president in 50 years, and its first president of color,鈥 stated Gary Chow, Mt. 91直播 Board of Trustees president. 鈥淒r. Garcia has demonstrated she is committed to the transformative power of higher education, and the Board is confident she will provide excellent, inclusive, and student-focused leadership at Mt. 91直播.鈥

As president, Dr. Garcia will serve as the chief executive officer for the largest single-district college in the state.

鈥淚 am ecstatic at the opportunity to lead Mt. 91直播 and I am grateful the Board has entrusted me to serve as the next president,鈥 Dr. Garcia said. 鈥淚 am looking forward to working with the college鈥檚 teams and especially to serving students. That鈥檚 why I do what I do.鈥
