Students Urged to Pick Up Their Bus Pass

All college students of Mt. 91直播 are entitled to a Foothill Transit bus pass (called
the Class Pass). It is reusable card that gives students unlimited rides on all Foothill Transit
buses and the Silver Streak line, which travels to Downtown LA.
The Class Pass is no additional cost to students. The program is funded through a transportation fee students overwhelmingly approved in 2014.
鈥淧ublic transportation is a key component to the future of Mt. 91直播,鈥� said Dr. William T. Scroggins, president and CEO of Mt. 91直播.
鈥淭his program truly benefits everyone: students without a car, students who do drive and compete for parking will have more spots available, as well as those who want to make an impact on the environment by reducing car emissions.鈥�
Students can use any of the Foothill Transit bus lines, which travel as far west as LA Live/Staples Center, as far north as Pasadena and up to the San Gabriel Mountain foothills, as far east as the Claremont Colleges, and as far south as the Brea Mall. Foothill Transit Spokesperson Felicia Friesema said five bus lines come onto the campus. Mt. 91直播 also has plans to build a transit center right on campus in the near future.
鈥淪tudents are a crucial part of our ridership,鈥� said Friesema. 鈥淔or one, they are the most open to taking
public transit, and two, they are the most in need.鈥�
Any Mt. 91直播 student (full or part time) taking college credit classes and who has paid their student fees can receive their Class Pass . The Fall pass will cover Winter as well, while the Spring pass also covers Summer. Students must bring their Student ID to the Sac Book Rac (bookstore) during the first week of the Fall or Spring semester to get their pass. The pass will renew itself in the Spring as long as a student is still enrolled and has paid their student fees.
