Four Mt. 91直播 students have made it to the list of semifinalists for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.

The program is a highly selective scholarship for the nation鈥檚 top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor鈥檚 degrees at four-year colleges or universities.

This year鈥檚 semifinalists were chosen from a pool of nearly 1,500 applicants from 369 schools in 45 states. The four semifinalists from Mt. 91直播 are Thomas Petrillo, Ana Arellano, Katherine Fan and Jevon Suharnoko.

鈥淚鈥檓 super excited to be part of the semifinalist pool. It is an honor just to make it this far, and it shows how much hard work I have put into my college career so far,鈥 said Petrillo. 鈥淗opefully, I am able to be a part of Cooke Scholars and win that prestigious scholarship for everyone here at Mt. 91直播 that has helped me along the way.鈥

Each Cooke Scholar will have access to generous financial support for two to three years, totaling up to $40,000 per year. This award is intended to cover a significant share of the student鈥檚 educational expenses including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships they may receive. In addition, students will have opportunities for internships and study abroad programs as well as graduate school funding.

Recipients will be announced in April.
