91直播 is using an Assessment Questionnaire (AQ) to assess each student鈥檚 placement level in English, reading, and math. This will help you identify the English, reading, and math courses you are eligible to take.

- Do I need to take a placement test?
  No. Placement testing has been replaced with the Assessment Questionnaire (AQ) as the primary means for placing students into English, math, and reading courses.
- What is in the Assessment Questionnaire (AQ)?
  The Assessment Questionnaire (AQ) for English, math, and reading placement will ask simple questions that can be answered with high school transcripts. Students enter their high school GPA, the English and math courses they took in high school, as well as the grades they earned in those courses. Responses are randomly verified using official transcripts.
- How do I take the Assessment Questionnaire (AQ)?
  After you have completed the Mt. 91直播 application (CCC Apply) and have set up your account in your Mt. 91直播 student portal, you can go to www.mtsac.edu/aq to complete the Assessment Questionnaire.
- Where do I go if I made an error on the Assessment Questionnaire (AQ)?
  If you submitted your responses but made an error, you'll need to work with a counselor in the Counseling Department to correct your error. You must bring your high school transcript when meeting with your counselor.
- How long does it take to get my placement results?
  After completing the AQ, you will immediately receive your course placement recommendations for English, math, and reading.
- Can I retake the Assessment Questionnaire (AQ)?
  No. You can only take the AQ once.
- I have questions about the AQ and need help completing the AQ, who should I contact?
  Please call our Assessment office at 909-274-4265 for questions about the AQ or you can simply stop by the Assessment office for assistance in completing the AQ. The Assessment office is located on the lower level of the Student Services Center (9B).
- How can I see my AQ results?
  AQ results are available online on the student portal or you may log back in to the to view your results.
- I was placed in transfer-level courses but I don't think I'm ready to take those courses, what should I do?
  You should talk to a counselor to help you with course selection and readiness for the course. Also, you can always take pre-transfer level courses to help you prepare.
- If I have taken courses at Mt. 91直播 or at another college, can I be placed using the Assessment Questionnaire?
  Yes. You can also submit your transcripts from another college to Admissions & Records office to receive course eligibility.
- What if I have been out of high school for a while?
  You should still take the Assessment Questionnaire. If you disagree with your placement you can meet with a counselor to discuss your options.
- What if I don't remember my grades or the English and math classes that I took in high school?
  - If you are currently enrolled in high school, you can access your high school transcript through your school district鈥檚 system. Log on to view and use that information on the AQ.
  - If you have already graduated from high school, you can contact your school to request a copy of your high school transcripts. You can use that transcript to complete the AQ.
  - If you have questions about this, contact counseling.
- What if I did not receive a placement level for English, math, or reading?
  Based on your responses to the Assessment Questionnaire, it was determined that we need to have more information in order to appropriately place you in the correct level of English, math, and/or reading. You may be referred to contact a counselor, AMLA, or Math department for course recommendations.
- Which class should I take?
  
  If you have questions about your placement or need help choosing the right course for you, please make an appointment to see a counselor. You may also check the English, AMLA, Reading, and Math department webpages for more information about the courses they offer.
- What if I made a mistake on the AQ and I believe it affected my placement, how can I correct it?
  
  Please bring a copy of your high school transcript and meet with a counselor. They can help you correct your AQ.
- If a student has a disability and needs special accommodations, what are the options?
  Students with disabilities who may need special accommodations should make arrangements with the Accessibility Resource Centers for Students.
