  • What is a math course with support?

    A support class is a 2-unit class, linked with the target course, that offers extra support. The same instructor teaches both classes and provides just-in-time support that will focus on both essential foundational skills and more difficult topics in the target course. For example, you may choose to take a MATH 110+11 support course combo (5 units) or a MATH 110 standalone target course (3 units). Speak to your counselor to determine which path is best for you.

  • How can I get credit for a Mt. 91直播 math or computer science course if I took a similar course at another college?

    Fill out a variance form that can be obtained from the Natural Sciences Division Office or the Math Department Office, and have it signed by the Department Chair and Division Dean.

  • If a class is full and I want to add the class, what do I do?

    Before the semester starts, you can add yourself to the waitlist of a full class, if there is still room on the waitlist. Once on the waitlist, be sure to consistently check your email as you might get notified of an opening, and there is a limited time frame to enroll in the open spot. If you are still on the waitlist once the semester starts, students wishing to add a full class should attend the first day of class and ask the instructor if they have room for you to add. If there is a space available for you, the instructor will give you an add code that you can use to register for the class. It is a good idea to have a backup plan and look for other open classes that might fit your schedule just in case.

  • Where can I find tutoring or other assistance related to my math course?

    Free tutoring is offered to students enrolled at the Math Activities Resource Centers & Support (MARCS) on the first floor Building 61. The MARCS also loans calculators for the day (both scientific and graphing) and offers access to computers with course-related software for math and computer science classes. Other tutoring options include the Academic Support and Achievement Center (A91直播) and the STEM Center.
