The electronic marquee at the corner of Grand and Temple avenues will be getting a much needed upgrade this December.

The Mt. 91直播 Theater 91直播 will stage its 10th annual production of student shows, 鈥淪ights Unseen,鈥� on Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 7-9, at 8 p.m., with a special Sunday matinee, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m., in Mt. 91直播鈥檚 Studio Theater.

Campus-wide Town Hall meetings were held Nov. 29 to discuss the ongoing transition from a Public Safety Department to a campus police force.

For only the second time in the college鈥檚 history, both the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 cross country teams have concurrently captured the California Community College State Championship. The last time this happened was in 1989.

Five Mt. 91直播 Honors students were invited to present research projects at the Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research (SCCUR) held Nov. 18 at Cal Poly Pomona.

Mt. 91直播 Vocational English as a Second Language (VESL) student Luisa Patino recently won the California Association of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (CATESOL) statewide essay writing contest.

The Mt. 91直播 Student Life Office will host a Community Volunteer Fair for local organizations that would like to recruit student volunteers on Thursday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on campus just north of the library and west of the Student Life Center, building 9C.

Mt. 91直播 recently received just over $68,000 through the California Community College Chancellor鈥檚 Office to establish a Hunger Free Campus program at the college.

Student Services Vice President Audrey Yamagata-Noji was the recipient of the Scott Goodnight Award from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) during the association鈥檚 western regional conference on Nov. 6 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Mt. 91直播 Forensics team got off to a hot start this fall, winning 26 awards including nine first-place awards in two October tournaments.
