New Staff Join the Title V Grant

Gina Coburn, Ph.D.
(Hired December, 2020) is the Title V Instructional Designer. Her role is vital to supporting
the learning outcomes of all nine grant objectives across 32 projects: performing
instructional technology design work that involves needs assessment, development, design and
analysis of professional learning activities; developing instructional technology
solutions that promote learning; working closely with stakeholders to improve instructional
delivery methods, promoting the understanding of pedagogical principles of technology-mediated
learning environments, and providing technical support and assistance as well as recommending
effective uses of technologies to support instructional delivery and learning in various
modalities.
About Dr. Coburn: Dr. Gina Coburn is a self-proclaimed life-long learner with a thirst for knowledge which is evidenced by her multiple degrees that span over various fields. She has a PhD in education with a specialization in instructional design for online learning, a master鈥檚 degree in Human Services with the specialization in criminal justice, and a Bachelors in English Literature with minors in philosophy and business. She over 15 years of experience in higher education and has held titles up and down the hierarchy of Higher Ed from student advisor to Dean of Curriculum and Content Delivery. She has dedicated her life to improving the student experience, and it is her passion to introduce learning strategies and or environments that foster that improvement. She teaches at the Doctoral Level research courses that she credits to keeping her thirst for knowledge alive with each student that she guides through the dissertation process, and as the instructional designer for the Title V Grant here a Mt. 91直播, she keeps the student experience in mind when designing content or researching new technologies to incorporate.
Oli Mohammadi, Ph.D.
Appointed by Academic Senate, Summer 2021, Dr. Mohammadi began her work this Fall
2021 as the Faculty Online Equity Coordinator. Dr. Mohammadi serves as an adjunct
professor of Communications at Mt. 91直播 and brings a wealth of experience to the grant.
This role was created to coordinate the integration of equity principles for online
learning and inclusive teaching into existing professional development and through
the creation of new resources and opportunities for faculty by working collaboratively
with Distance Learning (DL) Coordinators, the Distance Learning Committee (DLC), Faculty
Facilitators, the Faculty Coordinator, Equity Certification Faculty Coordinator, and
Professional Learning Academy (PLA) Coordinator to ensure cohesion.
Dr. Mohammadi's initial projects consist of creating evidence-based equity rubrics.
- Research, create, and disseminate Equity Rubrics
- Liaison with practitioners overseeing faculty tech tools across the campus
- Review SPOT for equity-enhancements
- Attend DLC Meetings
- Attend SPOT Meetings
